How Do I Book an Eye Exam in Titusville, and How Long Does It Take?

Often, and always for something urgent. We keep room for three or four same-day visits every day for problems that cannot wait, such as sudden blur, a painful red eye, or new flashes and floaters. Call us first thing and tell us what is going on, and we will say which office can see you soonest. A routine exam can usually be fit in within a few days. Please call first. We book routine exams ahead, because the room we keep each day is for eyes that hurt today. A call to (321) 269-2021 finds you the soonest opening at Downtown or Playalinda, which beats waiting in a lobby. Your vision and the health of your eyes, both. We check how sharply you see and find your prescription on a Marco digital refracting system, which flips between your old and new lenses so you can see the difference. We look at the front of each eye under the microscope, measure the pressure inside the eye, test your side vision, and take an Optomap picture of your retina. Then the doctor goes over it with you on the screen. See the instruments we use.

The drops open the pupil so we can see all the way to the edge of the retina and the optic nerve, in three dimensions. The Optomap picture shows most of the retina, but not all of it. We dilate every new patient, patients with diabetes, macular degeneration, or glaucoma once a year, and everyone else about every three years. Bring your current glasses, your contact lens boxes if you wear them, your insurance card, and a list of your medicines. New patients can fill in our patient forms online first. They take about ten minutes on a phone or a computer, and there is nothing to print. If you would rather not do them online, come a few minutes early and we will help you at the front desk. Sunglasses are worth bringing too, in case we dilate your eyes.

Both of our offices are open Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, on S Washington Ave. We open at 10am on the first and third Wednesday of the month.
