The Everyday Visits
At either of our offices on S Washington Ave, with the doctors who have seen Titusville families since 2004. A comprehensive eye exam with us checks how well you see and how healthy your eyes are, and you look at the photo of your own retina with us before you leave.
Glasses and sunglasses come from the optical shop at either office, and you can try on frames from your couch first. Contact lenses are fitted to your eye, not the average one, and you reorder them from home once your fitting is current. Most vision plans, VSP and EyeMed among them, pay part of all three, and we list the plans we accept so you can check yours before you call.
What Our Doctors Trained For
We do, and each one trained for it. Dry eye treatment is at Downtown with Dr. Greg Aker and Dr. Amanda Aker, and it goes past drops to the cause, with infrared meibography and OptiLight IPL. Scleral and other specialty contact lenses are fitted at both offices for eyes that were told no.
Children see Dr. Jennifer Bradley, residency trained in pediatrics and binocular vision, and a first eye exam for a child runs about an hour. Our Low Vision Clinic at Playalinda is Dr. Sarah Koehnemann's, started in 2012. That visit is 90 minutes face to face with her, with no dilating drops.
Medical Eye Care, Close to Home
Yes, and for most of it you never leave S Washington Ave. Dr. Greg Aker is a Southern Diplomate in Glaucoma Management, and for glaucoma care we measure the optic nerve with the Solix OCT to catch change before you would notice it. Yearly diabetic eye exams and macular degeneration checks happen at both offices, and we send the report to your other doctors.
Cloudy is fixable. We find a cataract, tell you when the time is right, refer you to a surgeon we trust, and do the visits before and after here at home. Dr. Aker has managed more than 4,500 patients after eye surgery.
The Days That Are Not Routine
Call us first at (321) 269-2021. We see eye emergencies at both offices, and a painful red eye, a sudden change in vision, or new flashes and floaters gets worked in as quickly as we can, including after hours and on weekends.
On any visit you can see what we see. The Optos Optomap photographs your retina in one flash per eye, with no drops, and we put it on the screen beside last year's picture. The imaging we use and what each scan shows are worth a look before your first exam.

Something is wrong with your eye and you cannot tell how serious it is. Call before you drive to the ER; we have the instruments a walk-in clinic does not, and we will tell you right there on the phone what to do next.
Nearly everything happens at both. Two things live at one office only, and we will always tell you which when you book.

Most vision plans and medical insurance, including VSP, EyeMed, Davis Vision, Medicare, Humana, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, and Tricare. A vision plan usually covers the routine exam and part of your glasses or contacts; medical insurance covers a visit for a problem such as glaucoma, dry eye, or diabetes. Have your plan name handy when you call (321) 269-2021 and we will check your benefits first.

A sudden change in vision, a painful red eye, or new flashes and floaters should not wait for a routine opening; a routine exam books online any time.
